Bamptons pull out all the stops – again, for Bloodhound SSC

The team at Nuclear AMRC have completed Bloodhound SSC‘s diffuser floor, a masterpiece of UK manufacturing.  This is the single most complex and expensive machining on this project to date. It forms part of the rear suspension subframe assembly that handles the rear suspension loadings of up to 30 tonnes, it also channels air from underneath the car to release high pressue from building up underneath.

It was finished in time so it could be showcased to the public at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is where our services were put to the test, Bloodhound contacted us with a brief, they wanted a transportation case that would protect the diffuser floor in transit but could also be used as a display case. with only a few days notice we pulled out all the stops, from design to manufacture, and many coats of paint later we produced a case fit for their requirements.
